Benyamin Zakaryan

Benjamin Zakaryan is the founder of “GEOINFO” company.

He graduated from the Faculty of Geology at Yerevan State University, obtaining a degree in Geography and specialization in Hydrology.

In 2004, he received a Ph.D. in Geographical Sciences.

He is the author of 23 scientific papers/articles.

He worked at the Hydrometeorology Administration, where he headed the Hydrology and Hydrography departments.

He taught Hydrological subjects at the Faculty of Geography of Yerevan State University.

He has worked on several projects in Armenia financed by international organizations, such as USAID, UNDP (in cooperation with SIDA), UNDP/GEF, and GIZ.

He also worked on the ME&A CEW project supported by USAID.

He was the team leader for Armenia in the EU cross-border river management project funded by TACIS.

He has made a significant contribution to the assessment of water resources in the Ararat Valley underground aquifer, providing valuable data and analysis. He played an important role in the development of Armenia’s river basin management plans. He also carried out forest inventory and mapping work in projects funded by international organizations.
